Psorothamnus fremontii
Fremont Indigo-bush
It is a finely branched, small shrub, growing 1 to 4 feet tall. The inflorescence is a raceme of intense, violet-blue flowers about 5 inches in length. The fruit is a legume. Leaves numerous, fine textured, and hairy, gray-green in color with very pale, inconspicuous glands. The branch tips are spiny, the bark is gray-green to white.
