Introduction:

Their wings are black and brown with a white fringe on the hind wings. Dark brown with small white spots near the forewing tip and a pale tan patch next to them. The hindwings have a sparse dotting.

Distribution

Distribution: southwestern United States and Mexico, with its range extending south to Argentina. The species is known to be nomadic and has been spotted in other parts of the U.S., including the eastern states.

Food: Larvae feed on plants in the pea family (Fabaceae), such as alfalfa (Medicago sativa) and deerweed (Lotus scoparius).
