Indian ricegrass
Indian ricegrass (Achnatherum hymenoides) is a drought-tolerant, perennial bunchgrass native to western North America, known for its use as a food source by Native American tribes and its importance in land restoration. It is characterized by its wiry, rolled leaves and a panicle inflorescence with silky-haired seeds that can be ground into flour for breads or eaten raw. The plant is also the state grass of Nevada and Utah.
