Eremothera boothii is a member of the evening primrose family that is particularly well-adapted to the disturbed soils of the Mojave and Great Basin deserts. It is easily identified by its nodding inflorescence and the way the bark on the lower stems tends to peel away in thin, papery strips as the plant matures. A highly variable desert annual known for its shredding bark and clusters of white to pinkish flowers that often nodding in the bud.
